Founded in 1888, KCMS started as an organization to assist with public health problems; establish acceptable standards of medical practice in the county; and credential physicians.
Today, with nearly 3,300 members, KCMS continues to promote the interests of physicians and their patients through self-governance, public advocacy and community partnerships.
KCMS is a charter member of the AMA and one of the largest county societies in the U.S. It works closely with the Washington State Medical Association on matters of importance statewide.
